General Superintendent, General Trades
As a superintendent in the general trades division at Christman Constructors, Inc. (CCI), John's organizational and team-oriented approach have brought great success on the projects that he supervises. In his current role, John plays an integral part in estimating, project management and troubleshooting, and his expertise and leadership garner him the respect of trade contractor and design partners as well as clients. John joined CCI in 1995 as a carpenter and soon after became a foreman on projects with both CCI and The Christman Company, CCI's parent company. He was promoted to general superintendent in the general trades division in 2014. John has led teams on projects in a variety of markets, including healthcare, government, retail and hospitality, and higher education. He has also led project teams through some of CCI's most unique projects, including a restoration of The Woodley in Washington, D.C. and preservation of Ernest Hemingway's former home, Finca Vigía, in Havana, Cuba. John is a part of CCI's safety committee as well as the company's leadership development and apprenticeship development programs. As an active member in the community, he is also a member of the Michigan Historic Preservation Network and the Preservation Trades Network.
